A few reasons to attend Scott Kelby’s Shoot Like a Pro: Reloaded Seminar Tour:
I have been a member of KelbyOne (previously NAPP) for MANY years. It’s a one stop for everything: training, inspiration, community and much more.
Yesterday I attended Scott Kelby’s latest seminar in Atlanta. As usual there was a LOT of information, tips and tricks along with his GREAT sense of humor that makes learning FUN. The seminar atmosphere made it easy to adopt a TON of information without being overwhelmed.
As I said I have been a member of KelbyOne for many years and I knew that Scott’s seminar would be nothing less than great BUT what touched me most and every single point of my soul is what Scott said at the end. Scott was talking about having a real understanding about what photography means for all of us. How important photography is for all generations. Also Scott reminded all of us who forgot what makes photography real is story telling in a unique way to the PHOTOGRAPHER. It’s not the camera and not expensive equipment. If you are a photographers and you are capturing images of something that is close to your soul, to your heart. this is WHAT MAKES YOUR images unique and special. On many cases people forgot that NO ONE (except maybe another photographer) will be impressed any more about how clean, sharp your image is. No one will be impressed about your expensive equipment (and in some cases I will say that I know people who are taking pictures using an iPhone camera MUCH better and more impressive than some people with their high end equipment). I don’t care about technical aspect of your photography (I would say if you are a professional photographer I expect from your nothing less than a technically correct image). What I care about is how unique your image is. What I care about is your STORY TELLING style of photography. IF I see it come through in your work I will be not care about your equipment, your camera or anything else. I will be your fan forever.
We all need to remember that the pictures that we are taking will be alive for centuries and these pictures will tell us about the person in that picture. This is our job and as photographers, to show people WHO IS THE PERSON IN A PHOTO.
Thank you Scott Kelby for this reminder!
